History

PSCF was organized in May of 2010 and is an association of pastel artists who work in the traditional fine art pastel medium. The organization has members from across Central Florida. PSCF is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS).

We encourage anyone with an interest in pastel and all those who love art to join our group. Members range from the occasional artist to the professional, so whatever your level of interest or talent, you are welcome!

Meetings are held monthly in quaint downtown Leesburg, Florida from September through June. Meetings include committee reports, demonstrations, educational information and much more.

PSCF has sponsored pastel exhibits featuring members work with awards ranging from $150 for Best of Show to boxed set of Terry Ludwig Pastels and gift certificates and ribbons.

PSCF has also brought notable pastel workshop instructors to central Florida including Lyn Asselta, Robert K. Carsten, Richard McKinley, Judith Carducci, Doug Dawson, Marla Baggeta, Sally Strand, Maggie Price, Ray Hassard and Jack Pardue.

For several years, PSCF awarded a Maggie Price Scholarship Fund for $500 to a Florida college student pursuing a Fine Arts Major.
