April Critique Guidelines
Jan Vermilya has been a member of the PSCF for several years and, until recently, actively participating in our exhibits. She's an award-winning member of the Miniature Art Society of Florida and the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, D.C.
At the April meeting Jan will be critiquing submitted works based on the following criteria:
-Composition
-Use of Color (Monochromatic, High Chroma, Low Chroma)
-Emotional Impact
-Motion and Movement (if applicable)
-Where identifiable, the school of art ex: (Tonalism, Impressionism, Abstraction, Cubism, Realism, Surrealism, Taoism)
This exercise is intended to provide positive feedback for all entrants whether they are at the beginning of their soft pastel journey or are more experienced in this marvelous medium.
All entrants should cover their signature if it has been inserted.
Your submission doesn't need to be a framed, completed piece.
Please feel free to use this exercise to help bring clarity if you find yourself stumped and uncertain how to carry forward a piece you're currently working on.
