Beginning Portrait Drawing

Afternoon of the Regular Monthly Meeting
IMPORTANT: Deborah will do a demo at our morning meeting 10:00 AM - Noon.
The demo is FREE and open to members,and ALL Intro to Portraiture Mini-Workshop participants.

If you have ever wanted to try portraiture, this is the mini workshop for you! You’ll be introduced to a range of drawing techniques used to create portraits, including construction and proportions for the head, eyes, nose, and mouth, and the use of shadow and light to create depth. We’ll have a live model and draw one-minute and three-minute poses, some longer poses, and start a copy of a master drawing. Participants will use several drawing mediums including pencil, charcoal, and sanguine. Pastel color will be introduced towards the end of the session. Designed for beginning portraiture, this will be a fast-paced introduction that will hopefully inspire you to continue studying the fascinating head!

COST: $40 for PSCF members; $45 for non-members.
