Painting Nocturnes - A Workshop with Chris Ivers

Lunch breaks will be scheduled each day.

NOTE: Class size is limited to 19 members, so don't delay. Registration ends July 20, 2024.

CANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS

Full tuition payment to reserve your space at the workshop is required at the time of registration, either on the website or by postmark of mailed in registration.

If the workshop is full, you will be notified and put on a wait list upon first come, first served basis and will be notified as soon as there is a cancellation.

If you cancel before July 20, 2024 we will refund the full workshop tuition, minus a handling fee of $15.00.

If you cancel after July 20, 2024 there will be NO REFUND unless we can fill the opening from the wait list or you find a replacement student on your own. Upon finding your replacement, please let the president or workshop chair know the name of the person. You will be responsible for getting the workshop fee from the your replacement student and that will serve as your refund.

If we can fill the opening from the wait list, you will be refunded your workshop tuition minus the handling fee of $15.00.

If we CANNOT fill the opening, or you cannot find a replacement student, you will NOT be refunded the tuition.

If the Pastel Society of Central Florida cancels a workshop for any reason, you will be notified as soon as possible and be given a full tuition refund.

There are no exceptions to this policy.

DESCRIPTION FOR THE WORKSHOP
Have fun exploring the many ways that lights in the night add glows and glistening highlights to street scenes after the sun sets.

You will also learn how to better take and print your reference shots either of the night or day to help you create wonderful paintings going forward. All levels are welcome and Chris will be providing panels that she will prepare in advance for purchase of $15 for each 11" x 14" support.

Demo and critique always included.

CHRIS IVERS BIO
Chris attained a BFA in painting and two dimensional design from Hartford Art School in 1973 and found work in the advertising field for the last 40 years. She has been Creative Director at numerous ad agencies and in 1986 broke off on her own to start her own company. She works with artists in that cross-over world of fine art and digital photography to teach them how to better promote themselves.

After raising four daughters, Chris returned to her passion and works in pastels and oils. She is the Past-President of the CT Pastel Society where she also holds Signature Artist Membership. Chris is also a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America, and is an Elected Artist Member at Lyme Art Association, Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, and Academic Artists of America. She was inducted into the IAPS Eminent Pastelists in 2022. She is a member of numerous other art organizations.

Chris has won numerous awards and has paintings in private collections throughout New England. Her paintings were chosen by the International Association of Pastel Societies as one of eight finalists worldwide in two of the IAPS cover competitions and placed First in Pastels in the Richeson 75 Landscape Show, WI. Her paintings "Red on 5th" and "Salt" were chosen as two of Pastel Journal's Top 100. Most recently she was awarded Best in Show at New Britain Museum of American Art and received her Medal of Honor from Audubon Artists.

She was juried into PaintAmerica's Top 100 Artists for 2008 & 2010 with shows that traveled the country for next two years visiting Galleries and Museums. Chris has been published in Best of American Artists Pastel Edition, Practiqué des Arts (a French publication featuring artists from around the world), American Art Collector Magazine, The Pastel Journal and was honored with the Art Spirit Foundation Silver Medal Award for Excellence in Pastel at the Salmagundi Club in NYC.

She is a former member of the PSA Board of Governors and former Vice President of IAPS.
Chris and her husband David live in Central Connecticut.
